The Sound Phantoms of the Tree

The fragile seed seeks its place in a hostile world.

The young plant seeks the sunlight, its nourishing warmth becoming matter.

Far below, the dark roots harbour the thoughts, hopes and fears of the tree as it strives for life.

We unself into the tree, crossing the membrane of the phantom's boundary. We approach the membrane once more.

The viscous outside world follows us within, it's altered nature audible.

Deep within, we are now fully of the tree. We hear the time-undulate workings of organs and process.

Further inside, we are now almost invasive as we hear the most private and vulnerable facets of the phantom.

The tree is mature, strong, heavy, tensile. We hear the massive force needed for the trunk to hold the lung-leaves aloft from the brain-roots.

The lifeblood is the tree's source of water. We begin 'at' the tree, become 'of' it, and return to 'at. We cross the phantom boundary slowly, gradually embodying it. We hear the extreme concentration that the tree must employ in its task of living. Anxieties, goals, memories and inherited traits from is ancient ancestors are sensible.

Now a confident, healthy member of the forest we hear the phantoms of the other trees.
